Introduction to Netscape

The Old Man on the Block

The Netscape Browser is a relative of the first popular browser, MOSAIC. Netscape Composer is not that old, but was incorporated into the Netscape Communicator package in response to the Web explosion of the 90's. Composer is an easy to use HTML editor, that allows people with no background in HTML to create Webpages. I have prepared a PowerPoint Presentation on using Composer. After we take a look at this we will try creating our own Webpages.

What constitutes a "good" Webpage? The answer to that is different for everyone. A personal Webpage or Homepage is a representation of you. The design of a page is an artistic endevour that allows the creator to experiment with the medium and their own soul. Webpages can be informative and/or entertaining. What do you want to have on your Webpage? This is up to you, mostly. I am going to require a few things.

(1) A title

(2) A header

(3) A description of you

(4) Colors that are well thought out and don't give me a headache

(5) A picture of you

(6) At least 6 links, including: University of Illinois, Senshu University, and the Intensive English Institute.

Most importantly, have fun.
