48-hour Inquiry: When 24 Just Isn't
Enough
Approaches to Writing Instruction
- Students should choose a particular approach to writing instruction.
- Students should then spend the next 48 hours inbetween classes to
research that particular approach.
- These findings will then be discussed in groups of 3 or 4 in class
- Discussions should be more than just a summary of findings; students
need to synthesize their findings with their experiences and their own
pedogogical approaches.
- These discussions will be the beginning of a position paper on the
effectiveness and validy of a particular approach. Ideas generated during
this time should form the stance and examples to be used in the paper.
