Exploring the Learning Process: How Do You
Learn
Learning to Write the Experience:
- Students go into groups of 3 or 4.
- Students freewrite about their experiences in learning to write in
English and/or their native languages.
- Students then trade their freewrites with other members of their
groups.
- Students should note the similarities and differences in their experiences
(noting these on the papers themselves, ideally).
- The group as a whole should then make a list of approaches in the
learning and teaching of writing that they have been part of and debate
the pros and cons of each approach.
- Each group should then present their findings to the class.
- The class could then debate some of the findings that result from
these interactions.
